Terms of Service

Last updated: May 28, 2026

These Terms apply to the Chess Clock website and mobile app. By using Chess Clock, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy.

Using Chess Clock

Chess Clock is a timer utility for over-the-board games. You are responsible for choosing the correct time control, checking the app before a game starts, and following the rules of your club, event, or tournament.

You may not misuse the app, interfere with its operation, reverse engineer it except where allowed by law, or use it in a way that violates applicable laws or third-party rights.

No Tournament Ruling

The app helps players keep time, but it is not an official arbiter, tournament director, or rules authority. If a dispute happens, the applicable event rules and organizer decisions control.

Purchases and Pro Features

Chess Clock may offer paid Pro features through Apple, Google, and RevenueCat. Prices, taxes, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are handled through the store account used for purchase unless the store rules say otherwise.

Pro features may change as the app improves. If a paid feature is removed or materially changed, we will handle it in line with applicable store policies and consumer law.

Your Content

You are responsible for anything you enter into the app or send through support, including names, notes, screenshots, and messages. Do not submit content that you do not have the right to share.

If you send feedback, bug reports, or feature ideas, you allow us to use them to improve Chess Clock without owing compensation.

Third-Party Services

The app may rely on third-party services for app distribution, purchases, diagnostics, and support. Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies.

Disclaimers and Liability

Chess Clock is provided as is and as available. We work to make the app reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, perfect timing accuracy on every device, compatibility with every event rule, or error-free behavior.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Chess Clock and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including losses related to games, tournaments, ratings, prizes, or device problems.

Changes and Contact

We may update these Terms as the product changes. The date at the top of this page shows the latest update.

If you have questions about these Terms, contact us through the support option in the app.
