Privacy Policy

Chess Clock is designed to work without an account. Our default position is to collect only what we need to run the app, improve reliability, support purchases, and answer support requests.

We do not sell your personal data. We also do not use the clock screen for ads.

What We Collect

  • Anonymous identifiers. The app creates an anonymous user ID on your device. This helps us connect app events, purchase status, diagnostics, and support conversations without requiring an account.
  • Local app data. Saved presets, settings, themes, recent games, and game history are stored on your device so the clock works as expected.
  • Purchase information. If you buy or restore Chess Clock Pro, Apple, Google, and RevenueCat may process transaction status, product identifiers, entitlement status, and related purchase metadata. We do not receive your full payment card details.
  • Diagnostics and product events. The app may record basic events such as app launches, feature use, errors, device type, operating system version, and app version. These events are used to find bugs and understand which parts of the app need work.
  • Support messages. If support chat is configured and you contact us, we may receive the messages you send, the anonymous user ID, and technical context needed to help with the issue.
  • Website data. The website may receive standard server logs and browser information such as IP address, device type, browser, referring page, and pages visited.

How We Use Data

  • To run the app and keep your clock settings, presets, and history available.
  • To unlock, verify, and restore Chess Clock Pro purchases.
  • To diagnose crashes, performance problems, and broken flows.
  • To respond to support requests and understand repeated product issues.
  • To measure website and app usage so we can improve the product.

Storage and Sharing

Presets, settings, and history normally stay on your device. If you uninstall the app, that local data may be deleted by your operating system.

We use standard service providers to run parts of the product, including app stores, RevenueCat for purchases, and Crisp for support chat when configured. These providers process data only for the product purposes described here.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the security of the service, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.

Your Choices

  • You can use the core clock without creating an account.
  • You can delete local presets and history by removing app data or uninstalling the app.
  • You can manage or cancel paid subscriptions through the App Store or Google Play account used for purchase.
  • You can request help with privacy questions through the support option in the app.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app, store requirements, or service providers change. When we make a meaningful change, we will update the date at the top of this page.
